Who to notify to adopt a tool?

Hi,

The Abandoned_tool_policy states that the current owner must be notified, but what to do when the current owner is this "Owner of abandoned tools" account? -Ash Crow (talk) 14:53, 14 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Great question @Ash Crow! I never came back to update the policy after we invented the @Owner of abandoned tools "placeholder" account. Taking over these tools should still require the committee to verify that secrets have been removed from the tool's $HOME directory, but there should not be a need to notify or wait for that notice to be acknowledged or time out. -- BryanDavis (talk) 16:53, 14 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
